The centerpiece is a wave-shaped roofed bar with 34 seats and 16 taps pouring rotating Florida craft beer, plus a second boathouse-style bar overlooking the water. Four dining concepts, including DOUGH. Pizza Co., are run directly by Rogue Wave, with two rotating spots reserved for local chefs.

What that lineup looked like in April, though, wasn't quite what's opening this month. Early interviews described the project as a food truck park with six semi-permanent trucks and a come-as-you-are, mom-and-pop feel. By the time construction wrapped, the concept had solidified into something more built-out: permanent kitchens, a proper bar program, and a performance pavilion designed for a full concert calendar, not just casual drop-ins. • Pepe's Cantina takes over 7700 N. Wickham Road, a space that most recently held Mi Jalisco and, before that, Crispers. It's set for a celebratory opening in late August, run locally by Alejandro Diaz and Luisiana Rodriguez, who moved from Orlando to Brevard County. The menu leans into dishes like risotto de la casa and Hawaiian Korean fried chicken, with a house tequila (Amor Tequila Blanco) and a house lager brewed for the restaurant by Bowigens Beer Company. "We wanted to be a part of the growing community and invest in a local business," Diaz told Viera Voice.
• CAVA has opened at The Crossings at Viera, 1975 Viera Blvd., the Mediterranean fast-casual chain's first Brevard County location. It shares the plaza with Home Depot, Miller's Ale House, Panda Express, and a Whole Foods still waiting to open its doors.

What Viera hasn't had, until this month, is a place where none of that planning is necessary. Lakeside Social doesn't replace any of those events.
